After spending 2.5 decades with a Global Fortune 500 Company, in various Senior HR Leadership and Management Consulting roles, Melissa brings a unique set of skills and experiences around working through and embracing change. Her experiences centered around partnering with the business to drive transformative large-scale change, creating talent strategies aligned to business goals, developing and managing current and next generation leadership and coaching and advising leadership on both their own development and work | life integration. It was the coaching part of her career that she found purpose in helping individuals, leaders, teams and organizations adapt to change personally and professionally. Through self-reflection, life experiences and a craving to further help people through change, Melissa switched gears from corporate veteran to entrepreneur and launched The Human Group. Now, as Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Talent Consultant, she partners with her clients to ignite potential in themselves, their teams and their organizations to drive simple, successful outcomes. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Organizational Communication from Denison University, a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas and a post graduate certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Dakota. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), is licensed to practice therapy in the State of KS (LPC) and is trained in Design Thinking and Human Capital Strategy. She is actively involved in the community and has coached several seasons off Girls on the Run of Kansas City and has served on Boards of local nonprofits. She is a musical theater enthusiast and loves to run, travel, and connect with people of all backgrounds. She and her husband reside in Kansas City and are proud parents of three amazing daughters: Mia (22), Ellie (18) and Lainey (14) and their French Bulldog (Louie).
